Instrumental lessons
There are many peripatetic music teachers at Colfe’s and pupils are encouraged to learn a
variety of instruments. Times of lessons are on a rota so that the same lesson is not missed each
week. Fees for music lessons are settled with the individual teaching staff on their first lesson.
All children are taught to play the recorder during class music lessons. Recorders should
have your child’s name scratched upon the surface for identification.
We also run a scheme whereby pupils, during their class music lessons, have the opportunity
to have free string tuition with an instrument provided. At the end of one term, parents receive a
report with an option to continue with paid lessons and to purchase the instrument.
