We attach great importance to the development of good links between school and home. The form teacher is the first port of call for most day-to-day matters concerning a child’s welfare and progress. Other forms of communication include a prep book, parent consultation meetings, reports and newsletters.

The Prep Book system allows both parents and teachers to oversee the child’s work and provides a useful method of conveying daily messages between school and home.

We hope that parents feel welcome and comfortable when visiting the school and know that we are swift to contact them whenever appropriate.  All children find themselves in a community small enough to offer maximum individual attention and yet large enough to learn self-discipline, responsibility and initiative.

The pastoral team is completed by the School Nurse and the School Counsellor, who both play a major part in the well-being and happiness of the pupils in our care.

School nurse

The school nurse is involved in all aspects of First Aid, treatment and sickness care. She plays an important role in preventative care, health education, parental liaison and general health and safety issues. She is available throughout the school day.

School counsellor

In addition to the normal pastoral care system provided by form tutors, Colfe's also uses the services of a fully qualified Counsellor.
