Our aim is to help and support the school in a variety of ways, fundraising being one of the most vital. Recent fund-raising events have included an annual Christmas fair, a Christmas market in the Prep School, a number of quiz nights, second hand uniform sales, an impressive annual fireworks evening (pictured here), and the prestigious Summer Ball.
Money raised provides additional funds for the school, and occasionally also for chosen charities (these are highlighted in advance). Funds are donated for a variety of projects and equipment that benefit the maximum number of pupils. The allocation of funds is decided at PAFA meetings following requests from school departments.
PAFA meetings are held each term in the senior school Library, in the evening, and each meeting discusses a particular subject-led forum. In the past we have had presentations and discussions with the Languages, Mathematics and Sports departments. PAFA welcomes attendance from as many parents as possible – this is vital when it comes to deciding how funds should be spent!
PAFA relies solely on the contribution of parents and friends for its success. There are many different ways in which you can help and the experience of being involved is always rewarding.
Please contact Dawn Bennett on pafa@colfes.com if you would like to get involved in any way, however small. We appreciate and value every single moment of your time; of course we also urge as many people as possible to attend PAFA run events.
