Every pupil in Key Stage 2 joins one of four Houses. When they are awarded ‘plusses’ and ‘credits’ for excellent work, effort, good manners and behaviour, these are credited to both the individual and his/her House.

At the end of each term the house which averages the highest number of plusses and credits earns the privilege of a house tea. Other house competitions include rugby, netball, football, rounders, swimming, cricket, athletics, cross-country and general knowledge. Siblings are usually placed in the same house.

During the course of Year 6 all pupils will have the opportunity to take on a prefect or House appointment. These roles change termly, which means children can take on a variety of roles. This helps them to build confidence and develop a sense of responsibility.
