Collective worship

Colfe’s is a Christian foundation and has close associations with St Mary’s Church, Lewisham, and St Alfege’s Church, Greenwich. We cover the National Curriculum for Religious Studies, which includes the teaching of Christianity as well as other world religions.

Our assemblies, although often Christian based, also reflect this multi-faith approach as well as British values.  They may contain musical or dramatic presentations given by the pupils, and often religious stories or stories containing a moral are read. A hymn is sung and prayers are said to close assembly. We expect that all pupils to attend, as no doctrine is taught but issues are raised to help children develop a caring attitude to each other and the world in general.
