Charity report 2009-2010

BBC Children in Need
Everyone dressed in their casual clothes on Friday 20th November and wore a hat in support of the BBC’s charity Children in Need. We saw a wonderful array of hats but a special mention must go to Charles Lee and Alexandra Moorehouse, who made their own special Pudsey inspired hats. In the Prep School we raised £187.
Operation Christmas Child
Thank you so much to everyone who donated a shoebox filled with gifts for Operation Christmas Child. With the Pre-Prep we managed to collect a total of 260 boxes, smashing last year’s total! A really fantastic donation.
We Had a Fayre Old Time!
Last Friday, 11th December there was a sea of red in assembly, with children wearing festive Santa hats and other red items of clothing. Excitement built throughout the morning as stalls were readied for the arrival of guests. Children took it turns to run their own stalls and then went around the school trying as many activities as possible. Many returned clutching a candy floss and sporting a tattoo or sparkly nail varnish. Others did their best to find the prizes in lucky dips, treasure islands or grids, score as many points as possible on Roll a Pud or Grab a Prize whilst blindfolded. One thing was certain, there were smiling, excited children all around the school and £1400 was raised for the Bromley branch of the Deaf Children’s Society from the Prep School and £1400 for Childline from the Pre-Prep. Once again, many, many thanks to all the efforts of the children, parents and staff for organising and running such a successful afternoon.
Bromley Deaf Children’s Society
On Friday 29th January we were pleased to welcome Rachel and Debbie from Bromley Deaf Children’s Society to our morning assembly. They came to tell us about their organisation and how they help the families of deaf children in Bromley and the surrounding areas. We were delighted to be able to present them with a cheque for £1400 from the proceeds of our Christmas Fayre.
