maths

In September 2009 we began our campaign in the prestigious Hans Wodya Maths Competition. In our league we were drawn against Blackheath High, Bromley High and Langley Boys.

We achieved convincing wins against all three schools.

1 st Match :        Colfe’s                         45                    Blackheath High           26

2 nd Match :       Colfe’s                         33                    Bromley High               21

3 rd Match :        Colfe’s                         43                    Langley Boys                18

We subsequently entered the knockout phase of the tournament, with the top 16 schools remaining, and were drawn against Wilsons School. We knew this would be tough because Wilsons had already beaten St Pauls three times in their league.

We put up a brave competition and lost in the end 39-30. It was very close at the halfway stage but we ended up losing in the last two rounds.

This is a very prestigious competition and to have reached the knockout phase alongside schools such as Westminster, City of London and Dulwich College was a great achievement.

Many thanks and well done to the team consisting of Ran Xiong (Captain), Harry Morris (Year 12), Charlie Whittaker (Year 11) and Alastair Porter (Year 9).
