During the summer, a group of children from Colfe’s were involved in helping with the latest
filming for the CBBC series ROAR. This is an extract from a letter received from Mark James, the
Assistant Producer, who was very impressed with the children.
‘It was with great pleasure that we welcomed thirty of Colfe’s students to the park to film
the ‘Ask the Keeper’ feature for a series three of the show. The students were absolutely
fantastic, so good in fact they were asked to appear in a brand new feature for the show called ‘
What do you call a .......?’ as well. Over the course of the day, the children were filmed in
small groups asking our specialist keepers questions about various animals. We found the
children to be well prepared and informed which meant we’ve got some great material for the show.
Some of the luckier students were treated to a hands on experience, getting up close to some of the
amazing animals.’
‘The feedback we have had from our Executive Producer is that this group of filming was some
of the best of the summer, so many congratulations and we can’t thank you enough for your
invaluable input. The series is due to air in November and hopefully I will be able to provide
dates for when your students will appear, but to be on the safe side you should tune into shows
everyday so as not to miss a thing! Filming with your students was highly enjoyable and we’d
love to welcome back Colfe’s School for any future series.’
