On Thursday 26
th June 2008 Bradley Storey and John Sargent took their black belt grading in Tae
kwon-Do. Tae kwon-Do is the art of unarmed combat against a real opponent. It involves
practise of basic exercises, fundamental movements, patterns and sparring. It helps to develop
flexibility, coordination and confidence, and involves a great deal of self improvement and
commitment.
Both Bradley and John joined the club in September 2004 when they started in year 7 at Colfe’s
Senior School. Having studied Tae Kwon-Do for nearly four years training twice a week under the
supervision of Mr U.Vijapura (International Instructor and Umpire) and assistant instructor Miss J.
Simmonite the students were successful in achieving their black belt 1
st degree; a first at Colfe’s School and an outstanding personal achievement for the
boys.
Congratulations to both John Sargent and Bradley Storey.
