My Trip to Godstone by Daisy
Last Wednesday Year 4 went on a field trip to Godstone in Surrey. In the morning we answered
questions about the village. I really liked the white cottage with flowers growing on it because it
was so pretty! Counting all the lorries, vans, cars, motorbikes and other vehicles was really hard
because we had to tally the passing vehicles very quickly!
We got back on the coach and went on to Godstone Farm. Straight away we had our packed lunch
and then 4B went to see the Spinning Room. I had no idea what spinning was so I couldn’t wait to
find out! Spinning is making wool on a spinning wheel. We all got to have a go and saw what it
could be used for.
Then we went to the main barn and fed the goats and sheep. The lambs kept licking my hand and
it tickled!
After that, we went to the chick house and held some chicks. They were so fluffy! I also held
a cockerel and his feathers were actually very soft. After looking at the rabbits, we went to
the pig pens and saw thirteen piglets born only the night before. I was afraid that the sow was
going to step on them! At the end we went to this amazing playground where I had a good run around
before it was time to go home. All in all, Godstone was the best trip ever!
