Year 4 pupils have been studying the Impressionists this summer term. They focused on
five artists – Paul Cezanne, Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renior, Paul Gauguin and Edgar Degas, and
researched their life and work.
Each child chose a picture they liked and using a grid technique, enlarged the image and then
painted it using bright acrylic paints. They used similar paint techniques to the
Impressionists artists to give their paintings movement and texture.
