Eighty Prep School pupils joined Year 7 in a musical concert culminating in a performance of ‘
Kofi’s Journey’ by Alan Simmons. The work celebrates the two hundredth anniversary of the abolition
of the slave trade. With pounding drumming in the African Choruses, an energetic calypso,
Blues, and a Boogie Woogie number, the Senior School Hall was filled with an exciting tapestry of
sound. Everyone who took part performed with total involvement and enthusiasm.
The concert also raised £1102.50 towards our Gambia Project, to which we will be able to add
around £260 in reclaimed Gift Aid tax. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
