When I got the part of the Artful Dodger in the school production of Oliver I was really pleased but also surprised as I had never acted before. I enjoyed everything about the play. At first the rehearsals were very tough as I had to stay after school till 6pm which made fitting in my homework quite difficult! I soon got used to it and I really enjoyed watching the production come together. The costumes were very well made and everyone looked really good. I thought the whole cast was very talented. On the first night I was very nervous waiting back stage but as soon as I went on all my nerves disappeared and I loved doing every performance. I had enjoyed doing the dress rehearsals but having a live audience made it even more exciting. At the end of each performance the audience applauded loudly so I think they really enjoyed it too. On the last night the whole cast went to celebrate at the Old Colfiens Rugby Club. We were all pleased it had gone so well but sad that it was over. I really miss being involved with 'Oliver' and hope I get a part in the next production!
