The Annual Old Colfeian Dinner was held at the School on Friday, 10th November. It was attended by
80 Colfeians of varying vintages. A tour of the School took place at 6.30 and there were free
aperitifs from 7.00 onwards, which the OCA very kindly provided. The Headmaster, Richard Russell
and the President of the OCA, John Nunn were present to greet Colfeians as they arrived. A four
course meal was served and fine wines supplied. Following the meal, diners were invited to the Old
Colfeians Club for a nightcap.
My thanks again to those who organised tables, in particular David Shaw, Keith Murray, Andrew Rodgers and Phillip Broggio. The evening really is not about the speeches, food and wine but a chance to meet up with former friends, pupils and staff in a convivial, friendly atmosphere. It was a shame that this year there appeared to be very few people under the age of 40 and I would welcome suggestions as to how we can encourage more ‘young’ Colfeians to attend. If anyone would like to help organise a table for next year’s dinner please let me know by e-mail to abrooker@colfes.com .
