Ages 7-11 (Key Stage 2)

Articulate, enthusiastic, moral, confident: that is how we like to see our pupils as they leave us for the Senior School.

We focus on three aspects of every child - talent, ability and character - and develop them to the full through the powerful Colfe's blend of a strong curriculum and expert, specialist teaching, underpinned by a rich programme of music, art, sport, drama, outdoor pursuits and other extra-curricular activities.  Everyone finds their niche.

Our pupils enjoy their learning - and what they enjoy, they do well.  Every year, Junior School pupils gain academic awards to the Senior School.

We give positive rewards for achievement and behaviour, and the children respond to them. The House system is central here: every pupil belongs to a House, and they compete to earn the most points for their House.  At the same time they develop a great sense of community.

In these crucial pre-teen years, pupils learn to set themselves high standards, treat each other with respect and kindness and to become responsible for the consequences of their own actions.  They boost their confidence through leadership opportunities, from speaking up through Pupil Voice to becoming an office-holder in the school or their House.
