What you learn

We stimulate and enthuse children with a creative curriculum that includes topics such as the Story of London, Volcanoes, Castles and Dinosaurs. These are enhanced by regular study trips and themed weeks in school.

We set high academic expectations focused on the key skills of reading, writing and numeracy (both formal and mental). We help our children to develop beautifully formed handwriting, and they learn to read with expression and understanding.

The creative and expressive arts are important; as children learn to express themselves they develop confidence and self-esteem. Every year we link up with the National Gallery for their Take One Picture scheme. Each term music, dance and drama come together in performances of an impressively high standard.

Our staff are highly experienced and qualified; our buildings are new and outstanding, and our classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

As an ‘all through’ school from three to 18 years Colfe’s offers its youngest pupils a wide range of expertise and facilities. The children have weekly lessons with subject specialists in Music, Swimming and PE, making use of the extensive grounds and equipment on offer to the wider school. This prepares them really well for the wider specialist teaching in Key Stage 2 and beyond.
