Welcome to the Colfe’s website. If this is your first visit, I hope that you will be inspired to visit us in person before long to find out more about us. Colfe’s is a co-educational independent day school in the suburbs of South-East London, catering for boys and girls of all ages. Originally established in 1652, Colfe’s was a local authority grammar school until 1977 when it became independent.

The grammar school ethos survives in a number of ways, notably in our commitment to academic excellence and traditional virtue on the sports field. Independence, however, has brought improved teacher/pupil ratios, amongst many other benefits. Smaller class sizes and tutor groups enable us to develop the uniqueness of each of our pupils, whether they find fulfilment on the sports field, the library, the theatre, or all three.This website will provide an initial impression of our school.
