Examination results - 2013

Colfe’s GCSE results were significantly better this year, with 54% A*/A grades, despite rumours of continued political pressure to reverse the grade inflation of recent years. The corresponding figures for 2012 and 2011 were 51% and 47%.

The learning culture in this year group improved significantly as a result of our collaboration with Professor Jim McKenna and his colleagues. They took the mental training techniques employed so successfully by the British Olympics team last year and have adapted them for our pupils. We have entered into an exclusive relationship with their company, Tougher Minds, from which all GCSE pupils in future years will benefit. This approach to study skills is unique to Colfe’s and we expect it to be uniquely successful.
